Rudolph Giuliani, Privileged Devil, & America’s Immigration Fairy Tale
Rudolph Giuliani’s racist attack on Black America included the insulting claim “I do not believe that the President loves America. He doesn’t love you. And he doesn’t love me. He wasn’t brought up the way you were brought up and I was brought up through love of this country.”
The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan spoke for all Blacks—including The President (and Mrs. Obama and the girls)—when he called Giuliani out:
“How did you grow up, Giuliani? A privileged cracker? Or I should say, a privileged devil. You grew up on the sweat and the blood of Black men and women who made America before your fathers got here. All of you Europeans, you recent immigrants that have found a home in America, and you are so happy. But you’re walking on our blood. Our blood soaks the soil of America.”
Min. Farrakhan was not only calling out Giuliani, but also exposing America’s corrupt history of immigration that has always been blatantly For Whites Only. The 100% of whites who came here by choice believe the ludicrous fairytale that “In America, the streets are paved with gold.” According to the book How White Folks Got So Rich, immigrants like the family of Rudolph Giuliani have enjoyed far more advantages than the native-born Indian or the imported and despised African slave. Let’s review the underbelly of white immigrant “success”:
European immigrants had a longstanding favored position in American society, and all were allowed citizenship by the late 1770s. The earliest Webster’s dictionary defined the term “American” as “a citizen of the United States or of the earlier British Colonies; one not belonging to one of the aboriginal races.” So, BY DEFINITION, only whites could “belong.”
In 1890, the U.S. government watched the remarkable success of one non-white immigrant group and instead of welcoming the hard-working and industrious Asians, they passed the “Asian Exclusion Acts” prohibiting all Asians from coming to America, a ban that lasted 40 years! San Francisco’s Jewish Jewish congressman Julius Kahn authored the legislation to punish, he said, “the duplicity and the trickery of the Chinese.”
The 1924 Immigration Act discriminated against and limited Black immigrants and delineated the number of entrants by country. A few examples of this marvelously wicked legislation provide a perfect indicator of the racial intent of America’s white leaders:

Even though Africa is a continent, it was treated as one nation and given 1/50th of the immigration allowance as the single nation of Germany, which is 85 times smaller.
Minister Farrakhan referred to the advantages white immigrants had when he said of the recent European immigrants that “you’re walking on our blood.” How deadly accurate he is. The success of these Caucasian immigrants and their apparent ability to walk past the Black ex-slave was accomplished through the racist machinations of the labor union movement of the late 1800s. It was specifically designed to (1) remove Blacks from their jobs in the skilled trades, which they dominated, and (2) install in those jobs the European immigrants who were flooding into America by the millions. Scholars attribute the rapid success of immigrant groups directly to the advantages they received through their memberships in America’s violent, corrupt, and profoundly racist trade unions.
White historians have misrepresented Blacks in slavery as being mere cotton-picking field hands. But Blacks held a virtual monopoly of almost all skilled and unskilled labor. They were the engineers, builders, tailors, shoemakers, carpenters, stonemasons, weavers, furniture and cabinet makers, plumbers, painters, sailors, boatmakers, carriagemakers, blacksmiths, printers, and every other type of skilled artisan. Southern writer Thomas Nelson Page said that after slavery the Black man was
without a rival [in] the entire field of industrial labor throughout the South. Ninety-five per cent of all the industrial work of the Southern States was in his hand. And he was fully competent to do it. Every adult was either a skilled laborer or a trained mechanic.
White immigrant laborers could not compete with the superior Black worker, so the unions came to the rescue. The most powerful union leader in America was Samuel Gompers, who led the American Federation of Labor (AFL) in its formative stages. Under Gompers, the AFL systematically and violently carried out an occupational eviction of Black workers. He wrote: “Caucasian civilization will serve notice [to Blacks] that its uplifting process is not to be interfered with in any way.” A common union expression was “Never let a nigger pick up a tool.”
By the turn of the century, the Black man—once the predominant worker in America—was locked in lowest-wage labor or was totally jobless. This hamstringing of the Black man forced Black women into the job market as farm workers, factory workers, and domestics in white homes. The higher wages of the unionized white male relieved white women of hard labor, and provided them with the leisure time and financing for the development of art, literature, education, and culture. Union leaders staffed the licensing and professional certification boards and funneled all employment to Caucasian laborers, while denying licenses and permits to the Black skilled craftsman, further pushing Black men back into dead-end low-wage work under white authority. AFL-CIO’s George Meany (president from 1955 to 1979) once remarked, “It never occurred to me to have niggers in the union.” Surely, the American Labor Movement did far more to obliterate Black progress than did the Ku Klux Klan—and both had the full participation of white immigrants as members and leaders.
This is the violent, gangster history white leaders like Giuliani ignore when they tell us we “should work hard” to get ahead. He would like that we forget about the sweat and the blood of the Blacks who made America before their fathers got here. But we will never forget. Thanks to The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, we will never forget.
