Carlos Cooks, “Jews, Crackers, and the Caste” (1966)
From the book Robert Harris, Nyota Harris, & Grandassa Harris, eds., Carlos Cooks and Black Nationalism from Garvey to Malcolm (Dover, Massachusetts: The Majority Press, 1992). We thank the great scholar Prof. Tony Martin for publishing this book through his own company, The Majority Press.
Garveyite Carlos Cooks (1913-1966) initiated the Buy Black movement and led the Harlem-based African Nationalist Pioneer Movement (ANPM) one of the most effective Black organizations of that era. He summarized the Black/Jewish relationship in raw terms earning him the charge of “anti-Semite.” He died mysteriously.
