1913: Anti-Defamation League Announces Its ACTIVITIES
The founding documents of the Anti-Defamation League state its goals and purpose. This statement of ADL “PRINCIPLES” appeared in the Nov. 14, 1913, issue of the B’nai B’rith Messenger, wherein the ADL advocates a “board of state censors.” Further, it states, “The League is not unmindful that upon the Jew himself rests a great burden. We must keep our own house in order so that our complaints may have their greatest justification and effect…”
